Vision:MATES Cafe is a network of everyday people of all cultures and ethnicity (including adults, teens, elders and lgbt+) who are trained to meet with a person in crisis or isolation at a local cafe, and provide emotional support and encouragement.
Purpose: MATES Cafe supports adults, teens and elders of all gender, culture, ethnicity and personal beliefs through life’s challenges such as relationship breakdown, depression, anxiety, loss and grief, bullying, loneliness and isolation.
Values: Integrity, Respect, Empathy, Passion, Connection, Empowerment and Contribution
Relationship breakdown creates the perception of isolation and the feelings of isolation can lead to family violence, depression and suicide. MATES Cafe 1/1 meetings for those in crisis, along with our Emotional Reset Technique Program and support membership help people out of isolation and empower their relationships to build stronger communities. MATES Cafe is bringing people together.
